Achievements
EUREKA SPRINGS PRESERVATION SOCIETY is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the natural and architectural beauty of Eureka Springs, Arkansas since 1979.
Since 1982, the Christmas Tour of Homes has served as a major fundraiser; profits from the Tour, and other fundraisers, are used for many community projects:
*Annual Presentation of Preservation Awards for outstanding local efforts
*Restoration of the Crescent Spring Gazebo on Spring Street by the library
*Completion of the Stairway from First to Armstrong Streets
*Gifted to the Centennial Mural on Main Street
*Painting, electrical, heat/air and new tin ceiling in the ES Historical Museum
*Contribution to Cory's Cabin & Garden Lighting
*Restoration of the Picnic Shelter at Lake Leatherwood, signage and structures
*Tree Planting in Basin Park
*Windows for the Auditorium
*1980 and 1990 Photographic Surveys of all Eureka Springs homes
*Production of Aerial Maps
*Audio-taped Oral History Interviews of long-time residents
*Developed ES History Curriculum for the ES Elementary School
*Led local efforts to keep ES Post Office open
*Received $3800 grant from Arkansas Department of Heritage, funding Twilight Tales,
summer theatrical productions highlighting Eureka history
*Financial assistance for roof repairs for Community Food Bank at Flint Street Fellowship
*Published two editions of Six Scenic Walking Tours of Eureka Springs
*Printed brochures highlighting Eureka's natural springs
*Installed four Victorian Lanterns exact replicas of those in photos dating back
to the 1880's at Harding Spring, Grotto Spring, Crescent Spring and Magnetic Spring
*Contribution to ES Downtown Network for Hanging Flower Baskets
*Contribution to ES Parks and Recreation for renovation of flower beds at Crescent Spring
*Contribution to ES Parks and Recreation for planting of New Trees for damaged ones from
ice storm
*Contribution to ES Parks and Recreation for Magnetic Spring adding capstones
*Contribution to ES Parks and Recreation for Basin Spring Park for Renovation of
the Fountain.
